ProgramCritique.com Review:

If you thought auctions were only for connoisseurs of art, then think again. There are loads of auctions where you can pick up great stuff at even better prices. If you are thinking eBay, you are still not cued in to police auctions.

The police department carries out public auctions regularly. These auctions are meant to sell items seized or recovered by the police. Simply put if the police discovered a Rolex and no one came up to claim it they put it up on auction. If you are the highest bidder, you are likely to acquire the Rolex. Usually, even the highest bid is lower than the market price of the item since the Police are auctioning it and there is no guarantee or exchange allowed.

Obviously, the police auction is not a place you will want to go to shop for a car for your college-going kid but that does not mean cars are not up for auction. Virtually everything from rings to trucks is up for grabs. The only catch is that you do not know the history of what you are buying. For instance, if you intend to pick up a DVD player, you do not know how old it is or how well it will run. Still, if you think the item is worth a buy, you can place your bid.

The sale is closed on eth spot and the highest bidder is expected to pay the full amount on the spot. Police auctions are kept simple and they do not take credit cards. Bidders have the option of paying in cash or they can write a check that can be debited at a local bank. At police auctions, you also cannot exchange or return anything you buy and find it defective. Al though, people claim to have purchased some nice things at the auction.

The auctions are not advertised well but if you are n interested customer, you can access auction details at the police auctions website. The website requires you to fill out a free registration form that records your info. All members are notified about upcoming auctions and the auction venue.
