Merle Norman Cosmetics, Inc. has around two thousand independent studios selling these cosmetics throughout United States and Canada. Merle Norman started her cosmetic business through modest beginnings in 1920s. She gave free samples of her beauty care products to her neighbors to use them who later became her future clients.   

Merle Norman started her first studio in 1931 at Santa Monica in California with her nephew, J.B. Nethercutt looking after manufacturing of her products. Merle sold most of her products at affordable prices. She never let go of her philosophy of trying before use.
