Body Wise International is a MLM company that has been in operation since 1989. They are based out of Tustin, California. Like many other MLM companies Body Wise International is primarily into selling nutritional supplements and health drinks. Some of their products are Super G a nutritional supplement and Body Wise(R) Reshape plan. These products are largely sold as nutritional products that play an active role in maintaining overall health and also help lose weight.

MLM companies can be deceptive and Body Wise International is no different. They are unwilling to put their products to a real test of quality and genuineness. They claim to have a wonderful reputation of excellence that has been built over fifteen years in the health product industry but there are no open tests to support their claims of excellence. They are not willing to conduct double blind trials on their products. This puts Body Wise in a suspect position.

Anyone knows that if the products they are selling were safe for consumption, no company would mind a double-blind trial. The trial requires little financial contribution and it will get tested on real live people who are prospective customers. When questioned about this, Body Wise is quick to say that since their products are not drugs they do not require such trials. A health conscious person knows that these products and health drinks directly influence the metabolic system and though they may use natural products, these supplements are as active as drugs. Body Wise International does have many success stories coming from customers and distributors but these are largely used for marketing purposes.

Recently in January 2005, Body Wise also ran into some trouble with the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC at Orange County, California has fined Body Wise about $3.5 million for deceptively advertising a product called AG-Immune. The FTC also reached a settlement with a doctor who endorsed this product falsely. The doctor was paid heavy royalties to endorse and claim that the product was capable of helping in conditions like HIV/AIDS, Cancer, and heart diseases.

Body Wise has also run into troubled waters with the FTC in 1995 when they settled complaints on false claims made for weight loss and cholesterol products. All this puts Body Wise International in a suspect position.
