ProgramCritique.com Review:
College education is necessary for every child but in today’s competitive world, it is not easy to get through to a good college. To add to it, colleges have sharply increased their tuition for years now and are soon getting impossible to afford. A good education does not come cheap and sending your kids to a good school is becoming a major parental duty. To make matters worse, there are many people defrauding gullible parents in the line.

Obviously, since college education is a big financial burden, most families want to get solid information on an institution before sending their child there. Knowledge hungry families are the perfect prey for people. Such tricksters sell information for several hundred dollars that will otherwise come free. For one, most colleges provide brochures, free either of cost or at a nominal price to any student who wishes to take admission there. In addition, there are several books in the market that cost just about thirty or forty dollars, which give you good inside information on the colleges of your choice. However, many parents are not aware of this and get sucked into attending seminars that claim to make college admissions easier. These seminars cost about seven to eight hundred dollars and leave you with less money and no wisdom.
Another common scam with college admissions is the misuse of grants. Desperate parents have often applied for grants that they are not eligible for it. They misrepresent their income to avail of college grants for their children. Unfortunately, these parents are only a small segment of people misusing grants. Several, so-called ‘educational service providers’ fill out false grant applications in names of students who don’t even exist. They even create fake income reports and pocket the grant. The government apparently loses over $109 million a year in such fake grants. The authorities catch some people like Priscilla Ann Hamilton who was the sole proprietor of Priscilla’s Professional Services. She was convicted to eleven years in prison on federal felony fraud charges. Another such convicted scamster was Kenneth Williams Jr., the financial aid officer for the IADE American schools. He was charged with laundering more than $50 million in grants in names of nonexistent students.
