Can Systems - Rawney McVaney: Was stopped before I could start.

Review:
I attended a workshop, training session or whatever you want to call it in June of 2004 for about $2500 plus my airfair to Texas. The concept seemed sound, help businesses to reduce their income taxes by getting them a refund on the errors on their returns. In return, I would get 25% and CAN would get the other 25% of the savings on the return and the business would get 50% back on past errors and save money on future returns for no money out of pocket but rather by splitting a percentage of the savings as I have outlined.

The business could be run as a stand alone service or in addition to or door opener to the small business market.

The training was lopsided, we spent a lot of time reviewing how to do seminars, even though many of us had no interest or the money to do them. Looking back I can see that we paid for the "priveledge" of selling the auditing services to businesses while CAN continued to make as much as we did per case. We were also strongly encouraged to partner with them in our annuity and security sales as well.

During our 2 day training we were shuttled to a restaurant back room and had dinner with various heads of departments(marketing, etc.)They seemed like nice people and strongly encouraged us to invest in mailers, flyers, etc to help our business. My problem with everything was this, I paid for my own flight, most of my meals and my room. They only paid for the meeting room and 2 dinners and one meal in town and yet within or about a month later after trying to get my business going I found out(in a round about way) that they were having financial difficulties and soon after went bankrupt. I had submitted my previous bosses tax returns and was humiliated by the fact that I had trouble getting any info back. This was the job at an insurance agency that I left to do this business!

It really burns me to think that they were pushing for sales of everything even though they knew that we would never get a chance to receive the benefits of any of it. Accepting money for a product or service while knowing you can't provide the product or service is the same as stealing. I really don't know how this guy can sleep at night.
